AT&T getting Windows-based tablets for the holidays

04.10.2012
AT&T will exclusively carry two Windows tablets for the holidays -- the Asus VivoTab RT and Samsung ATIV Smart PC, the carrier said Thursday.

Pricing was not disclosed, however.

The Asus machine is the first quad-core tablet that will run over LTE. It features a 10.1-in display, 32 GB of storage and the Nvidia quad-core Tegra 3 TE processor.

The VivoTab RT comes with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 RT Preview Edition.

Windows RT tablets are based on ARM processors, while the Windows 8 tablets, including the ATIV Smart PC, run X86 processors.

Analysts have speculated that the Windows 8 machines will cost $700 to $900.
