Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron revealed for DS, PSP

26.05.2009
LucasArts revealed today that a new game in the series will be released later this fall entitled, Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron. The game will be released for the Nintendo DS and PSP hand held systems, and although it's on a smaller console, the game promises to employ all new features not yet seen in the Battlefront series.

For the first time, players will start their campaign on land, but will have the ability to commandeer a vehicle that they can then fly and navigate into space and land upon a capital starship, continuing the battle from there.

For PSP players, the game will feature more character customization than ever before, from clothing to physical strengths, which can be continuously customized as you unlock new items.

The PSP version will also feature a 16-player multiplayer option, while the DS will have 4-player skirmishes. On top of all of this, an all new "Heroes and Villains" mode will allow players to assume the roles of major Star Wars good guys and bad guys as they make their way through the game.

As for the story, in an all-new single player storyline, players will assume the role of a force-sensitive clone trooper X2, who, much to the chagrin of his evil twin X1, ignores order 66 and joins the Rebellion.

With all these new features, Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron looks to be a pretty action packed little game. So, hold onto your blasters as Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron makes it's way to the Nintendo DS and PSP later this fall.
