Spirit Tracks and DS hits round out NPD's Dec. top 20

16.01.2010
If there was a single disappointing fact to accompany Nintendo's blockbuster December sales numbers, it would probably be that the new Legend of Zelda game for the DS failed to join the other six Nintendo-published titles in the top 10. Thankfully, Nintendo needn't mope too much, as The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks led the pack for the newly-released rankings for the 11th through 20th top selling games of December 2009.

Coming in at 11th, Spirit Tracks joined six other games exclusive to Nintendo consoles that placed in the bottom half of the monthly rankings, making 13 of the top 20 titles. Link's newest adventure joined a hearty mix of new games (Scibblenauts, Mario & Sonic) and older hits (Mario Kart, New Super Mario Bros. DS). Other ranking games for December include both versions of Madden NFL, the PS3 version of Assassins Creed II (joining the Xbox version that ranked in the top ten), and the surprise pick of the month, Just Dance.
