SingTel opens 'lifestyle' store

17.01.2009
Singapore telco SingTel has opened its newest retail store, the SingTel shop, which it says brings next-generation multimedia shopping experience to Singapore.

The store has café-style service counters with soft lighting effects, providing a pleasant experience for shoppers. It is segmented into consumer-friendly zones to meet the different needs of customers while they are at work, home and play.

The store features a host of innovative services like a new Auto Validation and Queue Ticket system, which dispenses tickets faster. Customers therefore have more time to explore the interactive touch-screens, listen to music, play games, watch mio TV programmes and try the latest 'live' handsets and accessories.

Browse and buy music

A unique feature is the interactive touch-screens that are embedded in the glass facade of the store. With them, shoppers can browse and even buy music 24x7 at their convenience, which SingTel claims is a first in Singapore.

In the store, customers can listen to the latest songs using high-quality headphones provided or with their own earphones before they buy and download music to their phones.

"As the market leader, the new SingTel shop is a breakthrough in retail concept. This iconic store enables us to better meet the changing lifestyle needs of customers," said Shane Da Silva, SingTel's vice president of consumer sales.

The 204 sq m shop is located at the new extension of Jurong Point Shopping Centre.
