HCL sees strong demand for enterprise services across Asia

Global IT services provider, HCL Technologies, continues to see strong demand for enterprise services in customer relationship management (CRM), engineering, research and development services (ERS), data warehousing and infrastructure services across the Asia Pacific.

The company announced results for the second quarter of financial year 2010-11 ending 31 March 2011. The results indicate that HCl's global revenues increased by 7.5 per cent sequentially and 32.6 per cent year-on-year to US$864 million.

HCL received profits from other parts of the world as well and its revenue for the rest of the world (ROW) grew 14.6 per cent quarter-on-quarter and 60.2 per cent year-on-year.

ROW comprises of the Asia Pacific, the Middle East, South Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and Africa.

ROW continues to be the fastest growing market for HCL.

Virender Aggarwal, president -- Asia, Africa and the Middle East, HCL Technologies, said the ROW region achieved exceptional performance across the region delivering strong double-digit revenue growth during the second quarter of financial year 2010-11.

HCL has continued sustained investments into emerging markets and has strengthened infrastructure in these countries. The company notes the example of Africa, which has become a robust region for growth with the recent win with one of the largest telecom operators and a prestigious government project in the sub-Saharan market.

"Moving ahead, we are uniquely positioned and will continue to invest in emerging technologies such as cloud computing and mobile technologies to provide enterprises greater flexibility, innovation and to maximise ROI," he added.

During the second quarter of the financial year 2010-11, HCL won the SAP Award for Customer Excellence 2010 in recognition of the company's successful and unique implementation of HRM at the Land Transport Authority Singapore.

HCL Japan bagged the Japan Management Association (JMA) HRD Excellence Award, 2010. HCL also signed a contract with an established Japanese Electronics company for a three year wing-to-wing Returns Material Management.

A Japan-based automotive company has selected HCL to provide end-to-end product development for next generation active safety system based on real time vision system based on front and rear mirror imagery.

Finally, HCL has inked a strategic deal with Multipolar, an Indonesian company, part of the Lippo Group. This partnership creates a joint go-to-market plan for the Indonesian market by leveraging HCL's global capabilities and Multipolar's local reach.
