Back to the future on Tony Abbott's homepage

Budgets are never really a fun thing to cover - you spend hours pouring over bland financial documents and often obfuscated plans.

Then you have to put up with the political parroting and school yard gimmicks in speech after speech. Yawn.

And yawn again.

So when I went to read over the Opposition leader's response speech I wasn't expecting to crack a smile.

Yet, if you head on over to you'll probably chuckle as I did when you see the homepage still referencing the 2009 Budget.

In a big bold graphic down in the right hand bottom corner is a bomb with its fuse lit, adorned by the words: "Labor's Budget Bombshell". And then underneath: "Click Here| Budget09".

Yes, that's right: '09.

Back to the future perhaps, Tony? It's always worth a smirk when politicians talk about how they can manage the economy and the nation's affairs better than their opponent, yet they can't even manage their own website capably.

In fact Tony's gaffe makes two in a row for the Opposition. In February Opposition communications minister Tony Smith suffered a minor embarrassment when his by its host, Network Solution.

In all fairness, if you click on the Budget '09 link, it takes you to the Liberal's website with the party's response to this year's Budget.

But it took me a while to get there... wonder if they are going to invest in high-speed broadband to fix that?
