Abbey Road DLC in Beatles: Rock Band this week

Harmonix and MTV announced today that the first full-album download for will be landing this week. Coming out tomorrow on Xbox Live Marketplace and Wii Store, and on Thursday on the PlayStation Network, the tracks will be available in a variety of configurations, ranging from a full album package that will cost $17, to $3.50 Wii 2-track packs, and single tracks selling for $2.

Despite the premium cost for the original , the pricing for Abbey Road falls in line with previous Rock Band albums, which have sold in the $15-20 range, depending on the track amount. The $2 single-track price is also common for other songs, including the Xbox-exclusive Beatles song "," the proceeds of which go to charity.

- Apple Corps, Ltd., MTV Games and Harmonix, the world's leading developer of music-based games and a part of Viacom's MTV Networks (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), today announced the launch of Abbey Road (1969) as the first Beatles album to be available for purchase and playable as downloadable content in The Beatles(tm): Rock Band(tm) Music Store.

With "Come Together," "Something," "Octopus's Garden," "I Want You (She's So Heavy)," "Here Comes The Sun" and "The End" already included on The Beatles: Rock Band game disc, players will now be able to play songs from and complete the entire Abbey Road album.

Additional Beatles albums that have been announced as upcoming downloadable content include Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967) in November and Rubber Soul (1965) in December. The Beatles: Rock Band downloadable content will be available for purchase on the Xbox(r)LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360, PlayStation(r)Network and via the in-game The Beatles: Rock Band Music Store for Wii(tm) using Wii points purchased through the Wii Shop Channel.
