Alcatel-Lucent appoints new Asia Pacific president

As part of ongoing changes, French communications giant Alcatel-Lucent has announced a new president for the Asia Pacific.

Incoming president, Sean Dolan, replaces Etienne Fouques, who has decided to retire early next year. Dolan is currently chief operating officer of the Asia Pacific. He will be a member of the company's management committee and will be based in Shanghai, China.

Prior to his position as chief operating officer, Sean Dolan was the president of North Asia. From 2005 to 2006, he served as chief operations officer for Lucent Technologies China and as vice president of product management and development (PM&D), based in Beijing, China.

Alcatel-Lucent chief executive officer Ben Verwaayen said: "I first would like to thank Etienne for his service of more than 30 years to Alcatel-Lucent. His contributions, knowledge and commitment have played a key role in our history and we wish him every success in the future. Sean's experience and understanding of the Asia-Pacific region, our customers and market opportunities are critical to achieving business success in this part of the world."
