Expect the shift toward services to continue, as it looks like companies are going to cut back on hardware and software. Over the last few days, this blog has started to see signs that businesses may slow their tech spending in 2008. A Goldman Sachs survey of 100 information-technology managers found that these people expect tech spending to drop 1% next year. And the research firm Gartner recently advised clients to prepare an alternative budget that anticipated spending cuts.
