The hasn't seen any significant changes since its initial release (outside of a few extra colors here and there) but Nintendo is finally revamping the console and phasing out the old Wii this holiday season.
The slightly slimmer system will come packaged with a Wii Motion Plus controller and Nunchuck, as well as two games (Wii Sports and Wii Party...but not Wii Sports Resort, which actually takes advantage of the upgraded Wii Remote). The new Wii will also completely do away with any Gamecube functionality -- controller ports, memory ports, and of course game compatibility.
Anyone who would be outraged about the lack of love for Nintendo's back catalog...well, they probably already own a Wii. And since Nintendo's taking away quite a bit from the system, we're expecting a price cut announcement in the near future as well.
