Two major companies have signed an agreement to collaborate on marketing and delivering a managed services offering in South Korea.

Under the agreement, CSC and KT Corporation will provide the Total Corporate Data Centre Outsourcing Service, which includes IT consulting, network services, systems integration, applications development and maintenance.

CSC claims that the combined expertise of both companies can help lower clients' total operating costs, and increase the scalability and efficiency of their business operations.

"The IT outsourcing market in South Korea has a short history and lack of technology in comparison with the global IT environment," said Young Hwan Kim, KT executive vice president and head of business group.

Young said CSC makes a good partner due to its successful global track record in IT outsourcing services. "By collaborating with CSC, KT plans to provide customers with services that offer lasting intrinsic business benefits."

"This alliance strengthens CSC's position as a leader in IT services across Asia and opens previously untapped new markets in South Korea," said Mike Shove, president of CSC's Asia group. "We look forward to working with KT in an alliance that offers significant opportunity to both organisations."
