Twitter, Facebook flooded with reaction to Jobs' death

The Internet and social networks like Facebook and Twitter immediately lit up Wednesday night with the news of the death of Apple Chairman Steve Jobs.

Jobs, who was 56, had a legion of enthusiastic admirers in the high-tech world, as well as an enthusiastic and loyal following in the mainstream of people who loved their Apple-created devices and computers.

That admiration showed Wednesday in the expressions of surprise and sadness at Jobs' passing.

At , the microblogging site struggled with the flood of tweets after the news of Jobs' death and with tributes to the man. At one point, five of the site's top 10 trending topics were related to Jobs - RIP Steve Jobs, #ThankYouSteve, iHeaven, iClouds and Only 56.
