Two NSW IT companies have been recognised for their contribution to the digital economy, with TigerSpike and IPscape last night receiving awards at the NSW Government technology export awards.

State treasurer, Eric Roozendaal, presented TigerSpike with the patrons' award for outstanding export achievement, with its iPhone and iPad applications reaching UK audiences.

"In the United Kingdom, TigerSpike delivered a highly successful interactive World Cup iPhone application for the Telegraph newspaper," Roozendaal said in a statement. "[It also] recently released a Telegraph iPad application for readers."

Other finalists for the export achievement award included online service enabler, Ideas International, and mobile application development company, Soprano Design.

According to Roozendaal, call centre software developer, IPscape, was awarded the patrons rising star award for its effective call centre operations.

"IPscape is revolutionising customer contact centre operations," he said. "Its online services mean companies wanting to operate call centres only need high speed broadband to access the necessary infrastructure online rather than having to invest in expensive in-house hardware, software and telecommunications."
