Smart money would bet that this Limited Edition PS3 is a Japan-only thing, as the "Fantasy XIII-2 Lightning Edition Ver.2" PlayStation 3 would probably cost a pretty penny in shipping and extra manufacturing. It's a better bet that will be the only ones actually coming stateside, but hardcore Final Fantasy fans in the U.S. and Europe (and everywhere else) can still keep hoping. That pink-on-black decal does look pretty cool.

About the only raw part of the deal is that the PS3 doesn't come with Final Fantasy XIII-2 -- for $500, you'd think the game would come packaged in. Still, at least you get the 320GB hard drive when it drops in December (in Japan). And don't forget, a slew of release dates were reconfirmed, too.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 comes to America on January 31, Europe on February 2, but Japan gets first dibs on December 15 alongside that new PS3.
