Street Fighter IV comes to India

24.02.2009
Milestone Interactive announced the launch of the anticipated game Street Fighter IV at The Living Room, Bengaluru.

Street Fighter IV features a mix of returning favorites such as Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Guile along with new characters created exclusively for this game such as Crimson Viper, Abel, El Fuerte, and Rufus. Characters and environments are rendered in high definition 3D, while the game is played in the classic Street Fighter 2D perspective with additional 3D camera flourishes. Six-button controls for the game return, with a host of new special moves and features integrated into the input system.

We at PC World got our hands on the Xbox 360 version of the game and were quite impressed by it. The colorful cell shaded graphics are a refreshing change from the grainy, dark graphics that seem to have pervaded modern games. Also, we found that the game was a true fighting game at heart that kept to the basics without complicating things. However, Street Fighter IV is an out and out button masher, so players should be prepared for sore thumbs.

Milestone will also organize head to head Street Fighter IV tournaments in Bengaluru and Chennai with the winner of the contest getting a Street Fighter IV Collectors' Edition. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game are now available in India for Rs. 3,499 (US$70).
