StarHub claimed that businesses in Singapore can deploy high-quality data, IP and voice/VoIP solutions into Malaysia using StarHub's scalable and secured international ethernet connection.

The IEPL service utilises ethernet over synchronous digital hierarchy technology to securely transfer data from Singapore to overseas POPs and then deliver to the end-customer through the respective local carrier's ethernet over SDH network. According to StarHub, the solution is more cost-effective as it offers far greater scalability than traditional international private leased circuit services, with the same service-level guarantees.

StarHub's IEPL service, which scales from 2Mbps to 1Gbps, has been available to Singapore businesses that require point-to-point international ethernet circuits to Hong Kong, and thereafter to South Korea, mainland China, Taiwan, the Philippines, Japan, the US and UK.
