Sony: There's no way Xbox 360 will win in the end

Sony Computer Entertainment chairman Kazuo Hirai told the that Sony is confident the will ultimately sell more consoles than the , slamming Microsoft for making consoles that only last in the market for four or five years, while Sony's stay strong for ten years.

Kaz Hirai told OPM that Microsoft's next-generation system, the Xbox 360, is "something that lacks longevity."

After explaining how Sony's video game consoles, the PlayStation, , and PS3, are all committed to ten-year life cycles, while Microsoft's consoles don't reach half that lifespan, he said

"...you do the math."

"Unless things go really bad," Hirai said. "There's no way that at the end of a life cycle our competition is going to have a higher install base."

Hirai also revealed that Sony doesn't even consider the a real competitor to the PS3.
