Shanghai's first DIY PC boutique opens

19.02.2009
Shanghai has opened its first do-it-yourself (DIY) personal computer (PC) boutique store to sell "high-end" hardware PC products.

Located in the Pacific PC Mall in Shanghai, the store specialises in selling high-end hardware PC products including Intel Core 2 quad processors, Intel Core i7 processors, high-end motherboards and memory devices. The store provides performance display of 'high-end devices', and consultation services.

In China, fierce competition in the consumer PC market has led to a bottleneck of channels. In recent years, as a result of higher income and better knowledge of PC hardware, users in China have greater demand for outstanding PC performance. Computer geeks who are fond of DIY are no longer satisfied by simple assembly and modification, but prefer computer products that can be personalised to suit their needs.

According to Intel, the second DIY PC boutique will open in Xian, China later this year.
