Technology services company UXC has purchased ICT services provider BCT Group which provides specialist services to Australian security agencies and the federal government.

BCT is the Australian distributor of Initiate and Convera search and categorization software and will merge with UXC's ICT security and infrastructure business CNS/Itac to form a team of 30 security specialists. UXC purchased SAP services company Oxygen in December 2005.

Cris Nicolli, CEO of UXC's business solutions group said the combined business will possess one of the strongest customer data integration, information management and categorization offerings in the federal government market.

UXC has a dual strategy of organic and acquisitive growth and Nicolli said: "We will maintain this strategy and continue to look at acquiring medium-sized firms with specific market expertise and leadership in a key segment."

UXC's business solutions group accounted for more than 70 percent of total revenue. For the half year ending December 31 2005 UXC recorded revenue growth of 25 percent to A$95 million (US$68 million).
