To put the weekly number in comparison, 16 new songs have come to the Xbox 360 via Rock Band Network over the past week. Harmonix representative John Drake discussed the reason for the comparatively paltry selection on PSN in a post on the Rock Band forums, explaining that the PlayStation Network only allows for five songs to be submitted per week and uploaded to the service at the same time, whereas the Xbox 360's XNA service allows for new tracks to be uploaded at any time, without a track cap. For now, Harmonix is determining the weekly track selection by taking into account Xbox 360 track sales as well as user demand. Another Harmonix representative mentioned in the same forum thread that the developer is hoping to work with Sony increase the PSN Rock Band Network output, and that the Wii's version of Rock Band Network is still in the works, stating that Nintendo's downloadable content service "has it's own entirely different set of technical challenges."
