Apple's fortune is rising, AT&T's inflating a new pool, and if you work at an Apple Store, John Browett would like to shake your hand. The remainders for Tuesday, May 8, 2012 were born silver spoon in hand.

Last year, Apple stood at 35 on the Fortune 500 list--this year, though, the company's jumped to 17. Interestingly enough, it's still being beat out by both Verizon and AT&T--though imagine what would happen if you suddenly took the iPhone away from those guys.

Speaking of AT&T, wireless division CEO Ralph de la Vega said on Monday that the company is getting ready to offer a family data plan this year. So if you can't afford an in-ground or above-ground pool, maybe you can still afford a data pool.
