PC costs slow Philippines' broadband Internet growth

While the price of connectivity has gone down significantly, the price of PCs continues to hinder the growth of broadband Internet in the Philippines, according to an executive of Smart Communications Inc.

'The number one hindrance in the growth of broadband access is not really the price of services anymore. It's really the price of the terminal (computer),' said Ramon Isberto, Smart's public affairs head, in an interview.

'It is one of the biggest single hindrance,' he added.
