Oracle appoints executive for Asia-Pacific CRM market

Oracle Tuesday announced the appointment of Paul Appleby, a former Siebel Systems executive, to the newly-created role of vice president of customer relationship management (CRM) for Asia-Pacific. This appointment follows the completion of the formal acquisition of Siebel Systems earlier this year and becomes effective from April 1.

Reporting to Mark Gibbs, senior vice president for applications and industries at Oracle Asia-Pacific, Appleby will be responsible for driving the company's leadership in the CRM sector. He brings enterprise software experience to his role, having overseen the growth of Siebel Systems across ASEAN, Australia and New Zealand, working on customer-centric transformation programs with major organizations in the financial services, telecommunications, and public sectors.

Appleby said that Oracle is committed to the development and adoption of innovative CRM solutions. He said that the company's position in the CRM market will now be accelerated through Siebel's experience and expertise in helping customers transform their

businesses to become truly 'customer-centric'.'

'I am confident that Paul and his team will continue to drive strong momentum for customer-facing solutions throughout the Asia-Pacific region," said Gibbs. He said that Oracle is committed to working with customers to accelerate the development and adoption of innovative CRM solutions.

Appleby has worked in the IT and telecommunications industry in a number of key executive roles across Asia-Pacific for more than 17 years.
