Online hub offers economic tips, outlook to Australians

American Express has launched an online information hub for Australian business which features news, tips and economic outlook reports.

The American Express Business Center is free and content is geared to the small to medium sized (SMB) business sector.

Head of the company's small business services in Australia, Rajarshi Ray, said demand from card members struggling to keep on top of business trends led to the establishment of the center.

Ray said as the largest issuer of credit and charge cards to business, American Express is well positioned to provide a forum for card members to learn from peers and to access the information required to make informed business decisions.

He said the small business services division also provides ATO/GST-compliant, online monthly statements that can be downloaded directly into the most common financial packages such as Quicken, MYOB, Microsoft Money or Excel.

The new business center includes Xpress News, a weekly e-newsletter which draws content from major media outlets, a range of case studies and whitepapers, and analysis of economic trends and surveys.
