New iPad: Unboxing and setup

Taking delivery of any new Apple product is always a joy, and the is no exception. Apple pays as much attention to the design of its packaging as it does to the product itself.

Come with us on a photographic journey of the new iPad unboxing ritutal.

1. Parcel. Delivered by TNT in two seperate parcels (one for the iPad, the other for the Smart cover and 3G Micro SIM)

2. Contents. Inside we have the iPad box (still minimalist design, and the colour of the iPad matches the model inside). We went for white this year. The Smart cover design hasn't changed either. The SIM is supplied separately in the UK (in the US it is pre-installed into the AT&T model).

3. The rear. Still nothing to report. Other than Apple's breathtaking confidence in not having any promotional blurb on the rear of the box.

4. Box size. The UK iPad box (right) is slightly larger than the US version we recieved last year. This is because it requires slightly more room to fit a UK plug adaptor (which is larger than the US version).
