According to the guy who posted the video, it's a complete to scale recreation of for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, a game I played to death while feeling like it (thanks, mono!) back in the early 1990s.

The "overworld" map is reportedly a 512 x 512 x 104 monster that took the author "over 100 hours" to pull together. The author suggests it's a work in progress, noting the map "will be adjusted to better represent the game" as Minecraft's features are improved.

Future plans include adding teleportation "to link dungeons, caves, and building interiors."
