McDonald's rolls out online recruitment in Australia

As part of its e-People strategy, McDonalds Restaurant is rolling out an online recruitment and staff induction platform to 730 retail food outlets across Australia.

The platform, known as metime, is a fully integrated, multifunctional online recruitment, learning and communications solution that was piloted last year on the NSW central coast and provided by TodayCorp.

Metime allows candidates to apply for employment and be assessed online. This is followed by a face to face interview, an online new employee orientation and induction program that is completed prior to the employees first shift.

McDonald's Australia director of people resources Frank McManus said metime frees up much-needed resources.

"The pilot demonstrated to us the huge potential of metime to not only help select and train the best crew online, but to also reduce the time and resources required to do it," McManus said.

Following the pilot McDonald's is working closely with TodayCorp to increase functionality and integration before rollout is completed.
