The Maxtor Shared Storage Plus system, which began shipping for PCs last month, will be available for Macintosh users next month.
The networked disk storage device can be used to create a storage hub for streaming video, photos and music to various devices without requiring an active PC or Mac on the network. Digital photos, video and other files on Macintosh computers can also be automatically backed up to the device. The Maxtor Shared Storage Plus system can also act as a centralized print server.
Automatic backup devices are available for Mac users across the entire family of Maxtor OneTouch and Maxtor Shared Storage external storage and backup systems.
