Instant Boosts with 'Speed on Demand' from Airtel

24.02.2009
Airtel Broadband subscribers can now get a temporary speed boost at a low price. The "Speed on Demand" service is meant for those who have signed up for plans that offer speeds lower than 2 Mbps. Users can use an automated online system (Airtel SelfCare portal - https://ebpp.airtelworld.com/) to upgrade speed when they require higher speeds (for example, for a quick movie download or a flawless video chat). Once that is done, they can roll back to their original Internet speed package, so they pay only for what is used without having to change their subscription plan.

Usage and session details can be obtained from the Airtel SelfCare portal, or from the bill at the end of the month. Tariffs for Speed on Demand vary from Rs. 25 to 120 (US$0.50-$2.41) per hour, with further details of the four available options as below:

1) Speed of 256 kbps at Rs. 25 per hour

2) Speed of 512 kbps at Rs. 40 per hour

3) Speed of 1 Mbps at Rs. 75 per hour

4) Speed of 2 Mbps at Rs. 120 per hour
