iBall Lappie to Empower Partners

Barely six months into the launch of iBaton networking products, iBall is now expanding its product portfolio. Best IT World (India) Pvt.Ltd., the company behind 'iBall' brand has launched 'first-of-its-kind' extensive range of products for laptop users. Aimed to enhance computing experience of laptop users, there are 40 plus products in 14 different categories under 'iBall' Lappie. "These are not mere accessories but gadgets and peripherals to suffice needs of everyday laptop user. We are one of the first brands to address this community with an extensive and innovative product range," informed Sandeep Parasrampuria, Director, Best IT World Pvt.Ltd. iBall Lappie will be sold through existing 11,000 channel partners across India. "We are also looking to add more partners who are excelling in laptops and laptop products especially in A/B class towns. Our conscious effort is to empower partners to project Lappie as complementing products than just bundle as freebies with laptops,"added Parasrampuria. With laptop demand increasing, it is an emerging market for products made for Laptops and to be used around the laptops. "By March 2009, we will add three to four categories taking SKU number to 60 under Lappie,"he stated.

Best IT World has widespread set up of 21 branch offices and 41 service centres, as iBall products reach over 350 Indian cities. "We have added 8 service centres and 1000 plus partners in past six months to ensure adequate service support and more market covergage,"he said. The 14 categories under iBall Lappie for laptops includes Mouse -- Wired & Wireless (Optical / Laser),Presentation Device, Speakers, USB Lights & Fan, Universal Power Adapters, Portable Hard Disk Storage Casings, USB Hubs, Numeric Pads, Webcams, Security Locks, Laptop Bags / Backpacks / Sleeves. Priced between Rs.299 to Rs.9000/-, each product carries a 1 / 3 year warranty."The wireless mouse is an excellent alternative for laptop user than twindle his fingers on a tiny trackpad. Laptop Risers and Coolers help improving computing posture and releases the stress of one's neck, back and shoulder. Apart from adding convenience to user experience, most products contribute to one's health too."

Apart from traditional IT channel, iBall Lappie will be present at major LFRs across India. With the launch of iBall Lappie, iBall offers 17 categories with more than 275 items in its portfolio. With small towns still waiting to purchase their first PC, which is usually a desktop; iBall Lappie will initially find more uptake in metros and A/B class cities, agrees Parasrampuria. "iBall Lappie gives our channels to earn good margins than shrinking profits in sale of vanilla laptops. We want to arm our resellers and system integrator partners to sell to home users/SMBs and enterprises,"he said. Laptop Mouse is expected to be front runner in this category in terms of faster adoption, he added.

Best IT World is expected to touch turnover of 300 crore rupees this fiscal year.Most MNC brands are already selling laptop accessories in Indian market. Being a late entrant in this market segment does not deter Parasrampuria to be optimistic of iLappie. He said, "We are the only brand to offer consolidated range with value proposition for laptop users. Our aim is to position the Lappie as a preferred brand for users through our robust channel partners and well etched roadmap."
