According to a press release, Norton Online Backup is available in 21 languages and uploaded files can be accessed anytime, anywhere through a Web site, and backups can be controlled for up to five PCs through the same central account. The release further informs that backups are also conducted automatically or on a user-defined schedule, while advanced data compression and a technology for "block-level" incremental backups enables faster data transmission. Norton Online Backup is also supported by a high-level of encryption, both before the files leave the computer and during transmission to Symantec's data centers. The files remain encrypted in Symantec's managed, secured data center facilities.

HP consumer PCs currently ship with a 60-day version of Norton Internet Security.
