Help, funding offered for hiring creatives in the North West

13.05.2009
Northwest Vision and Media, an organization that works on behalf of the digital and creative industries in the North West of England, is looking for companies to take part in its i.studio placement scheme for 2009.

The organization offers help with hiring interns and trainees: subsidizing 50 per cent of the trainee's salary; assisting in finding the right individual for the job; and provide structured training and support around the placement, including mentoring, masterclasses and funding for technical skills top-ups.

Northwest Vision and Media says that it's now looking for more employers to join the scheme and take trainees on for 6-month placements, scheduled to start in September. Companies currently taking part include Mando Group, Fluid Creativity, Virtual Construction and Splinter Design Communication, taking on trainees in design, development and project co-ordination roles.

Northwest Vision and Media is funded by the UK Film Council, the Northwest Regional Development Agency, European Funds, Skillset, local, city and council authorities across the region.
