GridIron releases second public beta of Flow

10.03.2009
GridIron Software has released the second public beta of its GridIron Flow software for managing creative projects, which includes the first version for Windows. This supports the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows XP, and the 32-bit version of Vista. The final version will also add support for the 64-bit version of Windows Vista.

As with the first beta, the Mac version is for Mac OS X 10.5 on Intel Macs only, though GridIron says that the final version will support OS X 10.4 and PPC Macs.

GridIron says that the second beta includes bug fixes and performance improvements based on feedback about the first beta.

The company says that Flow eliminates the daily administrative drudgery and file searching that slows the creative process by allowing users to track everything that goes into a project, from idea to end result. Users can see how all the pieces of a project fit together, in one interface.

Flow provides a unique and total understanding of each project being worked on and allows users to track all the components of a project, regardless of where the files are located, according to GridIron.

The products supported by the public beta include Adobe Acrobat 8 and 9; the CS3 and CS4 versions of After Effects, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Soundbooth; Apple's Final Cut Pro 6.0.2 and later, Shake 3, Keynote '08, Numbers '08, Pages '08, Preview, Motion '08, QuickTime Player, and Text Edit; the Windows 2007 and Mac 2008 versions of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and Notepad.
