GameCube's Resident Evil remake & Zero getting Wii makeovers

With releasing this week, and news of (the sequel to ) dropping Wednesday, you would think Capcom would be all out of Resident Evil goodness to shower the masses with. You would think wrong. This morning, the company announced Wii-enhanced versions of two of the company's most overlooked games--the GameCube remake of the original , and the series prequel, .

Sold under the "Resident Evil Classics" line, the two former GameCube exclusives will be hitting US shelves later this year for the lower-than-average price of US$29.99. Both games promise new control schemes set to utilize the Wii Remote. Both games were released in Japan last year, , with little else added besides Wii controls.

In addition to the announcement of the "Resident Evil Classics" line, Capcom also released the first screenshots of The Darkside Chronicles. (see the .) The press release announcement is reprinted here:
