Free iPhoto plug-in lets users share photos and locations

10.03.2009
, an online photo sharing and geotagging community, has released 1.0, a free iPhoto plug-in that provides a simple and convenient way to upload photos directly from iPhoto to locr.

Locr makes it possible to tag your photos with location information and geodata anywhere in the world via geotagging, with each photo assigned a latitudinal and longitudinal position.

The locr Uploader 1.0 iPhoto plug-in simplifies uploading of photos or complete albums, with iPhoto descriptions, titles and keywords easily exported.

Previously geotagged photos, as well as manually added geotags within iPhoto '09, will be identified and transferred to locr. Others settings, such as privacy levels and image size, can also be set during upload.

After uploading images the plug-in writes the URL of the image to the iPhoto descriptions for easy access to the locr website, while missing geotags can be easily added once uploaded.

"Working with the iPhoto plug-in opens new horizons in the offline photo organisation", said Norbert M Doerner, locr developer and creator of CDFinder, a popular digital asset manager. "Mac users can discover the exciting world of Web 2.0 with just a few clicks."
