For those of you unable to wait until August 25 to fill the bat boots of the dark knight in , MTV has revealed the , which showcases the titles dark brooding atmosphere and a bit of its free-flowing combat system.

As for players awaiting the game, looks like you'll have to hold out until September 15 in the US and September 18 in Europe as publishers Warner Bros. and Eidos reveal that the game is being pushed back to make use of the PhysX technology.

"Supporting NVIDIA PhysX technology has allowed us to add that little bit extra to the PC version of the game," explained director Sefton Hill. "As Batman interacts with the world, the aging asylum creates a more immersive, believable world."

Though PC players will have to wait for the retail release a bit longer, the downloadable demo is still on track for release tomorrow. The PhysX effects might be worth it for some however, as they apparently add a whole new level of detail and atmosphere:

"With PhysX technology enabled, players can explore darkened corridors packed with volumetric fog which reacts to Batman's movement and cobwebs which tear with his passing. Combat becomes a maelstrom of motion as office papers are thrown into the air alongside soda cans and litter as Batman lands each punch upon The Joker's henchmen. Throughout the game, the decaying gothic architecture is realized to an incredible detail with wall tiles chipping and breaking, stone pillars crumbling upon impact, and particles from breaking glass and debris shattering and falling down around Batman's feet."

Batman: Arkham Asylum is set for release on August 25 for and and will be released on the PC on September 15 in the US and September 18 in Europe.
