Power and cooling solutions firm Emerson Network Power is providing energy-efficient IT infrastructure for Asia's largest green data centre, being built by Malaysian IT solutions provider Teliti International.

"This win shows Emerson Network Power's portfolio and value proposition as it demonstrates the value of recent Emerson acquisitions with both Avocent and Chloride products integrating with Liebert products to formulate the complete end-to-end solution," said Emerson Network Power managing director, Systems business in Malaysia, Henry Ng. "Furthermore, as part of a multi-million dollar development, this is one of the most significant deals for us in Southeast Asia this year.

Ng said studies suggested that worldwide 'Green IT' usage could save US$800 billion in annual energy costs by 2020. "On opening, Teliti's data centre will be Asia's largest green data centre, one which redefines the benchmark for such services in Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region, offering customers a wide variety of cost-effective and reliable services."

"The world-class technologies from Emerson Network Power and our other partners provide us with the unique ability to monitor and control every aspect of our data centre infrastructure, including power, cooling and space utilisation," said Teliti Datacentres' (a subsidiary of Teliti International) chief executive officer, Musa Mohd Lazim. "This allows us to fine-tune the data centre's operation and to observe trends in capacity utilisation, so that these trends can be optimally managed. In bringing together global brands such as Emerson, we have found a winning formula for a sustainable, leading-edge green data centre."

"The 120,000 sq ft [11, 148 sq.metres] data centre will be equipped with interoperable, interconnected solutions from Emerson Network Power, defined according to Teliti's physical and business objectives," said Emerson Network Power's regional managing director, systems business in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Pakistan, Chan Chee Wah. "Taking advantage of Emerson's longstanding tradition of technology and engineering expertise, customers subscribing to Teliti's services can rest assured that they are partnering with a best-in-class provider, while concurrently contributing to a better, greener environment."

Chan said that with the initial 45,000 sq ft [4459 sq metres] due to open in the first half of 2012, Teliti International would be able to provide customers with advanced Internet hosting, flexible co-location, cloud computing, and fully-managed IT services such as managed storage and processing on demand.
