EA signs indies

Need for Speed and Old Republic aren't the only things EA wants us to know about. Three press releases herald three new deals for three different independent game developers.

First up is with a publishing deal through EA Partners for "dual analog shooter" Gatling Gears. Interestingly, Vanguard's Chief Commercial Officer Martin de Ronde comes from Killzone developer Guerrilla Games -- so he knows from shooters. Gatling Gears hits Xbox Live and PlayStation Network in spring of 2011.

Next is The Fancy Pants Adventures, which began its life as a quirky Flash game. In partnership with Over The Top Games and EA 2D, developer Borne Games () plans to merge the two games while adding a new world, new story, and new modes "designed exclusively for consoles." Fancy Pants is also due out on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network in spring 2011.

Lastly, EA Partners signed a deal with Warp developer to bring the top-down stealth action game to Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and PC in summer 2011.
