Capcom has been one of the most prolific creators of games that have been optioned for movies. Late last year, the company released the CG movie Resident Evil: Degeneration, while the live-action Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li came out in February. The fourth Resident Evil movie, subtitled Afterlife, is due out next summer.
While movie games are notorious for their failures with movie reviewers, Plan B has created many critically-acclaimed movies like The Departed and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Their upcoming slate of films should earn them cred with the gamer crowd, as the company has optioned properties like the zombie novel World War Z and the comic book series Black Hole. More information about the deal and the companies involved can be found in the release below.
