The Computerworld (US) Online story "Symantec CEO outlines plan for Veritas," posted Friday, provided an incorrect figure for the original value of Symantec Corp."s planned stock-swap acquisition of Veritas Software Corp.

The story has been corrected on the wire and the second paragraph now includes both the deal"s correct original value, as well as its current value, a figure the article didn"t contain before. The second paragraph now reads:

Thompson, who discussed the coming merger during a news conference after his keynote speech here at Storage Networking World, said he expects the stock-swap acquisition of Veritas to close next month. The deal initially was valued at $13.5 billion, but it would be worth about $9.3 billion now because of a drop in the price of Symantec"s stock.
