20.11.2008
Into its second year, 'COM-IT Expo 2008' organized by TAIT from November 20 --23 at Mumbai will attract IT managers, CEOs, and CIOs of enterprises apart from channel community. The event running on exposition theme with around 100-plus IT stalls is organized by TAIT (Trade Association of Information Technology), Mumbai's premier association of IT companies. The conference 'Synergies 2008' is scheduled to be held on November 21 (for CIO community) and November 22 (for channels). "The full day seminar consists of vendors enlightening technology trends to CEOs/CIOs of enterprises and SMBs. The seminar for channels will address channel-related issues addressed by officials from principals including Microsoft Genuine Software initiative and other topics," said Anees Khalfay, President, TAIT. Each seminar will address about 200 --300 pre-registered visitors. The event touted as a B2B will also attract consumers and IT enthusiasts. "Today, IT has become an integral part of individual /home users/students. Hence the event would be a mix of B2B and B2C," he said.

TAIT into its thirteenth year comprises 350+ IT companies including hardware/software dealers, resellers, network /system integrators, and MNCs. "We are striving to ensure high ROI for all partners and provide a platform to interact with decision makers of companies. We have sent invites to a huge number of channels, enterprises, SMBs, and government segment in Mumbai and other cities to get the right people for the event," said Champakraj Gurjar, Director, TAIT. High quality of infrastructure and logistics will be the highlight, he added. The organizers expect IT association members from cities across India to attend the event, mainly from western India.

TAIT members are confident to have a huge audience this year. "There are fears of global recession at present, but we expect a huge audience through our marketing efforts, brand recall, and innovative conferences. Almost all big MNC brands are continuing their association this year too,"said Gurjar. With many IT companies foraying into Indian markets, this event acts as a bridge between them and channel ecosystem, he said. TAIT has sent invites to various IT /Engineering colleges to enable students to witness new technology trends and IT gadgets in the market. "For channels, it is a perfect place to network with officials of IT companies and strike business deals under one roof. They can also forge new tie-ups with new companies," said Khalfay.
