Chinese firm targets Philippine market for 3G services

Chinese telecom provider ZTE Corp. is counting on the steady growth of the Philippine market and looks to compete with the likes of Ericsson and Nokia in addressing 3G requirements of local carriers.

ZTE Corp. provides end-to-end Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) and High-speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) products and services.

The company established its Philippine operations in 2002 and has worked on projects with various carriers including Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), Smart Communications, Innove, Digitel, and Bayantel.
