The new version of the game features 12 new characters, 4 of which have been revealed so far. On the Capcom side, Strider and Ghosts 'n' Goblins villain Firebrand step into the battle. And from the Marvel side, Ghost Rider and Hawkeye are ready for action.

8 new stages have been added to the game, and a Spectator Mode has been added for those who want to observe the masters at work.

The new version will be a standalone product for $39.99. Capcom hasn't yet revealed whether there will be any means for existing Marvel vs. Capcom 3 players to upgrade, or indeed if the two games will be cross-compatible.
