28.04.2006
CA Inc. on Monday will announce a new version of its AllFusion Modeling Suite, which was created to simplify the design, implementation and analysis of complex database and data warehouse applications.

Enhancements to the r7 release include support for Oracle10 and 9i databases, a redesigned Complete Compare function to analyze the potential impact of database design changes and the ability to reuse components within the suite to simplify administration.

David Williamson, database administrator at the Utah State Office of Education, said in a statement that the improvements will help him ensure the accuracy of data for students in grades K-12 statewide.

CA also named Martinair Holland, a premier air carrier in Holland, as a future user for the airline's database of 2 million passengers.

The new version features a generalized data modeling engine, which is embedded in CA's AllFusion Erwin Data Modeler.

In addition to the two Oracle databases, the new version will support DB2 iSeries; DB2 for Linux, Unix and Windows; DB2 for z/OS; Informix; Ingres; Microsoft SQL Server; ODBC; Progress; Red Brick Warehouse; SAS; Sybase; and Teradata, CA said.
