06.08.2009
It has been a gut wrenching couple of months for those of us who have been eagerly awaiting , as Activision filed a lawsuit against Double Fine Productions to stop the "Rocktober 13" release of the game. But, finally, the brutal court drama that was, has ended, as the lawsuit between the developer and former publisher has been settled out of court.

Thus far, as reported by the , terms of the settlement were not disclosed and a scheduled hearing for today on whether or not the suit would continue to court has been canceled.

Thus, all is well with the world and Brutal Legend will indeed meet its "Rocktober 13" release, assuming it doesn't get the virus going around. (Please, I hope I didn't just jinx that. *Knocks on wood*)

Activision has been claiming for quite some time, that they to Brutal Legend, (even though they canceled its production) and were cheated out of potential gains because Double Fine found a new publisher in Electronic Arts. Thus, the lawsuit to stop its release. However, Double Fine fired back, saying Activision was merely suing over against their "Guitar Hero" series.

Thankfully, all of this back and forth nonsense is over and we can breath a sigh of relief as Brutal Legend will be making its way to and on October 13, 2009.
