Brazil club selects South African security solution

South African company, DexSecurity Solutions, has signed a contract with Sports Club Interna'ional, Brazil. In terms of the contract, Dex will provide the sports club with the company's SafeVenue control system next year.

The SafeVenue system comprises the same stadium access control technology that was used in South Africa during the Cricket World Cup 2003.

Sports Club Interna'ional approached Dex earlier this year. The contract was signed in October, and installation is due to be completed by December, before the first game of the new football season on 11 January 2006.

According to Jan Wessels, MD of DexGroup Informatix, the systems control solution has two cost models.

"The first is an outright sale for the installation of the necessary hardware and then a yearly licence for the software. A full maintenance option is available, which allows for support on the hardware if required," he says.

He states that yearly, preseason 'preventative' maintenance is included in the maintenance agreement, which entails a full overhaul and system check prior to the first games of each season. This aims to ensure that the system is fully functional and any potential problems are identified and rectified. The maintenance also allows for software and firmware upgrades.
