According to the game's site: "It's the year 3587, conflict spans the stars. Huge robot armies are locked in an enduring stalemate. In their bid for galactic conquest they call upon the most powerful [sic] group of mercenaries in the universe: the Awesomenauts! Play as one of several Awesomenauts as you storm the online battlegrounds and unlock loads of new abilities and characters for your arsenal."

Sheriff Lonestar, who is introduced in the trailer, has the ability to toss dynamite at enemies, summon a "holobull" and blast enemies with a .45 carbine. He's either ridiculously badass or adorable, depending on your perspective.

Though no release date or pricing has been set yet, the game is due "sometime later in 2011" claims developer Ronimo games.
