Australian law firm selects Cognos for BI platform

06.06.2006
Australian law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth is standardizing its business intelligence (BI) platform to improve integration with other systems.

The firm, which has 920 partners, is standardizing on Cognos 8, which has a single, Web-based services oriented architecture (SOA). Corrs' national finance team is responsible for the firm's financial management and works closely with about 120 partners to carry out accounting, financial analysis, strategic analysis and reporting requirements.

The platform provides an accurate view of information to better manage performance, a Cognos spokesman said. Customers can add product components to the suite as needed, enabling them to grow BI organically with the changing needs of the business, he said.

Corrs' financial information systems manager, Colman Kenna said improved reporting will replace labor-intensive processes as well as create a central reporting repository that allows timely access to information. The solution will be implemented progressively over the next 18 months.
