Apple Trackpad update fixes unrecognized clicks

17.11.2008
Apple on Monday released an update for its newest MacBook and MacBook line of notebooks. Specifically, the firmware addresses an issue where clicks are not being recognized.

When Apple , one of the new features was a completely redesigned trackpad. The multitouch glass trackpad has a 39 percent larger tracking area than before and the entire trackpad will act as button, rather than having a separate button like the previous notebooks.

The problem is that many of clicks on the new trackpad were not recognized by the computer. Even though the trackpad made the clicking sound, nothing would happen on the screen, which led to a lot of frustration from users purchasing the new notebooks.

According to notes provided with the update, when the installation of the update is complete, the updater app will start automatically. The update is available via the software update mechanism in Mac OS X.
