Amazon has announced plans to create more than 100 new technology jobs at its development centre in Kilmainham, Dublin.

The cloud company will be looking for support engineers, systems engineers, network engineers, software developers and technical managers to fill the new vacancies.

A team of engineers and developers that supports the design and deployment of Amazon websites are currently based at the centre, including the developer support team for Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The centre provides technical assistance for customers using applications such as Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon EC2, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon CloudFront.

Amazon set up its Irish development centre in 2005. The workforce expansion is aided by funding from regional development agency IDA Ireland.
